Linda Sircloumb Gillespie Holden, age 68, resident of the Lakeland Community, retired nurse and wife of the late Robert D. (Bubba) Holden departed this life Friday morning, November 22, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for six months.
Services for Mrs. Holden were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, November 25th the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Pastor Mark McKinney of the Arlington Baptist Fellowship Church officiating. Personal remarks and reflections were given by Mrs. Holden's grandson, Joshua Vega. Interment will be private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Holden was born September 23, 1945 in Wilson, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul David Sircloumb and Reba Irene McBride Sircloumb. She received her education in the Mississippi County, Arkansas Public School System and continued her education at the Jonesboro, Arkansas School of Nursing. She obtained her LPN degree in 1963. She was a member of the Wilson, Arkansas First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holden was employed as an industrial health nurse for GNB in Memphis before her retirement in 1989. She was married September 22, 1989 to Robert (Bubba) Holden, who preceded her in death in April 2001. She moved to the Lakeland Community in early 2012 to be near her family. She will be remembered as family-oriented person who enjoyed traveling and reading.
Mrs. Holden is survived by two daughters, Tracy Lynn Watson (Johnny) of Hernando, MS, Lt. Colonel Regina Paden (Jeff) of San Antonio, TX; her son, David Shane Gillespie of Lakeland; her sister, Betty A. Langford of Charlotte, NC; and six grandchildren, Travis J. Paden, Joshua M. Vega, Anna C. Watson, Hunter D. Vega, Lexy R. Paden and John D. Watson.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David A. Sircloumb.
Honorary casketbearers were Jose A. Vega, Marcos Vega, Lennel Vega, Bryan Conley, Jeff Paden, Johnny Watson and David Shane Gillespie.
