Linda (Hurst) Locke

June 11, 1956 — April 8, 2014

Linda Hurst Locke, age 57, resident of Hermitage, Tennessee, former resident of Somerville and wife of Joe-Reeves Locke, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 at the Tristar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.

Services for Mrs. Locke were conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Somerville First United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Locke was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church. Since graduating from Asbury University and Asbury Theological Semin ary, Mrs. Locke served as youth director in Tifton, Georgia and Somerville. She has served as Christian Education Director since 1998 at Hermitage United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Locke is survived by her husband of 23 years, Joseph Reeves Locke, Jr.; her parents, Stanley A. Hurst and Camilla Hurst; two sisters, Betty Hurst (Steve), Nancy Delaney (Harold); her sister-in-law, Priscilla Daniels (Rev. Mike); two brothers-in-law, J. Parker Locke (Lydia), Rev. Mark Locke (Donna); nieces and nephews, Ben Delaney, Sarah Camp, Jesse Delaney, Rachel Lantz, Aaron Daniels, Rob Locke, Will Locke, Nathaniel Locke, Jonathan Locke, Alexis Daniels; and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Reeves and Mary Priscilla Locke.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers will be Goochie King, John King, Ty Camp, Jesse Delaney, Bill Walker and Walker Thornton.

Honorary casketbearers were Matt Sands, Paul Henri, Brad Stephens, Joey Parker, David Cowan, Dylan Burk, W.A. Smith and Jim Turner.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Asbury University, 1 Macklem Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390 or Asbury Theological Seminary, 204 N. Lexington Avenue, Wilmore, KY 40390.
