Linda Carol (Harvey) Perkins

March 24, 1947 — January 8, 2014

Linda Carol Harvey Perkins, resident of Dodge City, Kansas, a native Fayette Countian and daughter of the late William and Inez Harvey of Somerville, departed this life Wednesday morning, January 8, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was 66 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Perkins were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, January 17th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Stan McDaniel, pastor of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, officiating. A Private Family Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Perkins was born March 24, 1947 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hemphill Harvey and Inez Mallard Harvey. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was married December 8, 1973 to Michael Edward Perkins, who currently serves as director of food and nutrition at the Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, who survives. Mrs. Perkins was a lifelong Methodist and was a member of the Dodge City First United Methodist Church at the time of her death.

In addition to her husband of 40 years, Mrs. Perkins is survived by her daughter, Holly Perkins of Kalamazoo, Michigan; her son, Steven Perkins (Elizabeth) of Carthage, North Carolina; her sister, Martha Harvey of Pueblo, Colorado; her brother, Lawrence Harvey of Los Angeles, California; and four grandchildren, Kaylee Hagemann, Joshua Hagemann, Chad Perkins and Madelyn Perkins.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 608 West Douglas Avenue, Suite 100, Wichita, KS 67203, the Dodge City First United Methodist Church, 210 Soule Street, Dodge City, KS 67801 or the Somerville City Cemetery, P.O. Box 909, Somerville, TN 38068.
