Linda Faye Kelley Reece, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of James M. Reece departed this life Thursday afternoon, February 28, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for one day. She was 64 years of age and died following an illness of several weeks.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Reece were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, March 4th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Billy Adair, pastor of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Reece was born February 26, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Raymond Kelley and Eva Mae Ballard Kelley. She moved at an early age to Fayette County and received her education in the Fayette County Public School System, graduating from the Fayette County High School in the class of 1967.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Morris Chapel Baptist Church at the time of her death. She was a homemaker and will be remembered as a person who enjoyed being with family and friends. She had been a resident of the Somerville Community for over 50 years and enjoyed caring for her yard and flowers. Mrs. Reece was devoted to her family with a special love for her only child, Amy.
Mrs. Reece is survived by her husband, James M. Reece of Somerville; her daughter, Amy King of Somerville; her sister, Louise Mooney of Caraway, AR; and her brother, Clyde R. Kelley (Lou) of West Memphis, AR. She was preceded in death by her sister, Miffie Johnson; and three brothers, Dolton Kelley, Morris Kelley and Cecil Kelley.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Matthew Johnson, Ray Kelley, Jerry Kelley, Barry Kelley, Jeff Wiles and Timmy Bishop.
