Linda Rooker

LINDA JEAN HOLDER ROOKER, resident of Somerville Community, former resident of Bolivar and Healthcare Provider before her retirement died Sunday morning, October 17, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Somerville. She was 61 years of age and died following a five month illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rooker were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 20
th
at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel at Somerville with Rev. Don Hammons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in District 15, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Rooker was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 17, 1949 the daughter of the late Lonnie Holder and the late Susie Jane Boone Holder. She was educated in the Shelby County Public School System and had been a resident of Hardeman and Fayette Counties for a number of years.
Mrs. Rooker was of the Baptist Faith and she enjoyed sewing and music by her favorite entertainer, Loretta Lynn. She will be remembered for her devotion to her children and her canine companion.
Survivors of Mrs. Rooker include her sons: Paul Davis, Sr. of Brighton, Henry Smith of Somerville, Walter Smith of Drummonds, Ronnie Smith of Millington, and Otis Rooker of Millington, her sisters: Barbara Rooker of Somerville and Betty Holder of Somerville, her brothers: Don Billings and Charlie Billings, her grandchildren: Nicole Davis, Paul Davis, Jr., Adam Smith, Chasity Smith, Tyler Smith, Nathan Smith, Jonathan Smith, Alexis Smith and Dustin Smith and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Suzanne Holder, two brothers, Robert Billings, Eddie Billings, and one great granddaughter, Cierra Hagerman.
