Linda Faye (Hoskins) Young

November 20, 1946 — July 5, 2014

Linda Faye Hoskins Young, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of Bert Young, departed this life Saturday evening, July 5, 2014 at the Methodist Hospital in Somerville. She was 67 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services for Mrs. Young were conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, July 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. John Ed Watkins, pastor of the Mercy’s Bridge Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Young was born November 20, 1946 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Hoskins, Sr. and Sarah Belle Keel Young. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was the wife of George Bert Young, who survives. She was self-employed as a real estate agent for over 20 years before her retirement. Mrs. Young resided in Fayette County for much of her life and was a people-person who enjoyed special times with her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Young is survived by two sons, Gary Taylor, Sr. of Moscow, Jason Taylor (Lisa) of Batesville, AR; her stepson, Dale Young of Black Fish Lake, AR; her sister, Brenda Hoskins Kirk of Somerville; five brothers, Cecil Hoskins, Jr. of Somerville, Jimmy Hoskins of Somerville, Larry Hoskins of Somerville, Ricky Hoskins of Somerville, Kenneth Hoskins of Williston; four grandchildren, Gary Taylor, Jr., Jona Taylor, Caydee Taylor, Sam Williams; and three great grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Gabby Taylor and Chris Duke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Hoskins Parker.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Cody Hoskins, Brian Hoskins, Sam Williams, Josh Smith, Jimbo Hoskins and Lance Hoskins.
