Linda Faye White

Linda Faye White, resident of the Somerville Community and daughter of the late J.D. White and Josie Morrow White, departed this life Wednesday morning, December 25, 2013 at the Haywood Park Community Hospital. She was 66 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance for Miss White were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, December 29th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Miss White’s nephew, Bro. Larry Adair, pastor of the New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee, officiating. He was assisted by Bro. Leroy Delaney, pastor of the New Life United Pentecostal Church in Somerville. Interment followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery near Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Miss White was born September 2, 1947 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. White and Josie Morrow White. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Somerville area. She was a homemaker throughout her life and will be remembered for her Christian values and love for others.

Miss White was a devoted member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church where she participated in numerous church activities as long as health permitted. A kind, gentle person who was never known to speak a harsh word against anyone and loved by all who knew her, Miss White was truly a person who lived her Christian faith daily. She was a charitable person who received much pleasure in family gatherings and her special television programs were special to her during her years of confinement.

Miss White is survived by five sisters, Helen Adair, Mary Ferge and Hazel Ferge, all of Somerville, Dorothy Cannon of Memphis, Sue Childers of Gulfport, MS; her brother, Howard White of Memphis; 23 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were David Adair, Jeffery Ferge, Fernon Ferge, Johnny Thompson, Stephen Smith and Richard Wayne Glover.
