Lloyd James Gilreath, age 79, resident of Somerville and husband of Jean Powell Gilreath, departed this life Friday morning, November 27, 2015 at the Bolivar General Hospital.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Gilreath were conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville. Interment followed in the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Gilreath was born March 21, 1936 in Dawsonville, Georgia. He received his education in the Dawson County, Georgia School System and was married to the former Jean Powell. He moved to Cumberland County, Tennessee and was employed as a supervisor for the Franklin Limestone Company in Crab Orchard, Tennessee before his retirement. He moved to Fayette County and was a member of the Victory Life Assembly of God in Somerville. Mr. Gilreath enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing and gardening.
Mr. Gilreath is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Powell Gilreath of Somerville; two daughters, Dena Duncan (Clay) of Dawsonville, GA, Michelle Gilreath of Crossville, TN; three sons, Chris Gilreath of Somerville, Greg Gilreath (Nancy) of Dawsonville, GA, Lloyd Gilreath (Jennifer) of Bethlehem, GA; his sister, Marcelle Ledbetter of Dawsonville, GA; three brothers, Donald Gilreath of Dawsonville, GA, David Gilreath of Jasper, GA, Morris Gilreath (Peggy) of Gainesville, GA; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Gilreath and Lelia Trammell Gilreath.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Victory Life Assembly of God, 11650 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
