Lonnetta Jean "Jeannie" (Short) Hamblin

Lonnetta “Jeannie” Hamblin, age 67, resident of Bolivar Tennessee, peacefully passed in her sleep on Thursday morning, September 14, 2023.

Lonnetta was born September 2, 1956 in Springfield, Missouri the daughter of Thomas O.B. Short and the late Shirley Carsten Short. She was widowed from Bobby Hamblin in 2016 and was currently employed at Dollar General where she just celebrated her 10 years of service. Lonnetta was also a member of the armed forces having served in the Air Force. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a special love for her animals especially her cat Cookie and loved collecting angels. She never met a stranger. If you asked anyone how they would describe her they would always say she was absolutely the sweetest person that loved life to the fullest.

Lonnetta is survived by her sons, Christopher Short (Teresa) of Oakland, TN and Micheal Hamblin (Jennifer) of Searcy, AR; her daughter, Carina Cross (Jeff) of Panama City Beach, FL; her brother, OB Short; her sisters, Natasha Archer, Bethenia Rutherford and  Ashlee Porter (Preston); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Carsten Short.

A gathering of family and friends of Lonnetta “Jeannie” Hamblin was held on Wednesday September 27, 2023 from 12 noon until 2 P.M. at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel located at 10670 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
