Lonnie Herbert Allen, age 29, resident of the Moscow Community, United States Army Veteran and son of Jake and Louise Allen died Wednesday morning, July 4, 2012 in the Slayden Community of Mississippi.
Services with Military Honors for Mr. Allen were at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Hickory Grove Cemetery at Moscow.
Mr. Allen was born August 1, 1982 in Memphis, son of J.W. "Jake" and Louise Malone Yager Allen. He received his education at Fayette Academy and was a graduate of the Rossville Christian Academy. Mr. Allen enjoyed golfing and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He was a mechanic in the family business and served his country in the United States Army National Guard for the past six years. Mr. Allen enjoyed the outdoors, nature, four-wheeling and will be remembered for his love of family, friends and children.
Mr. Allen is survived by his parents, J.W. "Jake" and Louise Malone Yager Allen of Moscow; three sisters, Deborah Waldrop (Grady) of Ashland, MS, Jerry Lung (Roger) of Panama City, FL, Carrie McClain (Robert) of Albuquerque, MS; two brothers, J.W. Allen, Jr. (Tanya) of Moscow, Jonathan Allen of Moscow; and his grandparents, Ernest and Gwendolyn Yager of Moscow.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Jonathan Allen, Steven Earwood, Johnny Box, Larry Milan, Scott Ozier, Keith Cannon, Bryan McClure and Dustin Allen.
Honorary casketbearers were Chris Yager, Brian Waldrop, Marshall Davidson, T.J. Pittman, Jimmy Allen, Joseph Allen, Matt Coburn and Zach Webb.
