Loriel (Nunnery) Holmes Clark

September 3, 1925 — April 9, 2012

Loriel Nunnery Holmes Clark, longtime resident of the Williston Community and retired assembly employee died Monday, April 9, 2012 at Caruthersville Nursing Center in Caruthersville, Missouri.  She was 86 years of age and died following an extended illness.

A Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Clark was conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 12th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Gary Joyner of Williston officiating. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery near Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Clark was born September 3, 1925 in Camden, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Homer Jackson Nunnery and the late Mabel Pauline Bolden Jackson Nunnery.   She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and lived in Williston for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Holmes, who died in 1967 and Walter Clark, who died in the 1990’s.

Mrs. Clark enjoyed walking and was active throughout her life. She was a former employee of the Troxel Manufacturing Company in Moscow and the Wonder Products Company in Collierville before her retirement 21 years ago. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered by her family for her kind mannerisms and her love for the simple things of life. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her animals and a person who enjoyed the outdoors.

Mrs. Clark is survived by four nieces, Debbie Kitchen (Dale) of Williston; Ann Howell of Caruthersville, MO, Pamela Carneal (Billy) of Caruthersville, MO, Elaine Sipes (Dennis) of Caruthersville, MO; and four nephews, Roger Lacey (Glenda) of Hickory Flat, MS, Paul Lacey (Sandy) of Caruthersville, MO, Johnny Lacey of Caruthersville, MO and Ricky Smith of Dyersburg.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Paul Lacey, Johnny Lacey, Tony Pappas, Bobby Joyner, David Cedell, Jr. and Michael Carneal.

Honorary Casketbearers were Chad Bryant, Ethan Sills, Brandon Bishop and Brandon Joyner.
