Lorine Goodman Phillips Henley Kinney, age 76, resident of the Whiteville Community and wife of Glen Jacob Kinney, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 2015 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Kinney were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, May 1st at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Bill Sorrell, pastor of Whiteville First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the Hillville Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Kinney was born September 23, 1938 in the Vildo Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Goodman and Lola Belle Phillips Goodman. She received her education in the Hardeman County Public School System and was married February 24, 1996 to Glen Jacob Kinney, who survives. She was a resident of the Whiteville Community and a lifelong resident of Hardeman County. Mrs. Kinney was a member of Whiteville Baptist Church and enjoyed attending yard sales, gardening, collecting angels and working with flowers.
In addition to her husband of 19 years, Mrs. Kinney is survived by two sons, Gary Phillips of Whiteville, Danny Phillips of Whiteville; two stepchildren, Glenda Jane Kinney Doyle of Whiteville, Henry Lee Kinney of Florence, KY; four sisters, Bernice Benard (Otis) of Whiteville, Marie Dowdy of New Ricton, TN, Dianne Phillips (Edward) of Whiteville, Sherrie Allen (Steve) of Haywood County, TN; three brothers, Bubba Goodman of Hillville, Randy Goodman (Sue) of Hillville, Ronnie Goodman (Beverly) of Vildo; five sisters-in-law, Ethel Essary of Southaven, MS, Betty Miller of Chicago, IL, Bertha Grammer of Memphis, Esther Nix of Memphis, Ressie Cronic of Germantown; her brother-in-law, William G. "Billy" Phillips (Debra) of Beech Bluff, TN; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Ken Benard, Pee Wee Phillips, Steve Allen, Anthony Kirkland, Keith Goodman and Thomas Allen.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, c/o Bobby Cannon, 281 Charlie Edmonds Road, Whiteville, TN 38075.
