Louie Wayne Willis, age 53, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Friday afternoon, June 8, 2018 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.
Funeral Services for Mr. Willis were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Boyce Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Louie was born June 16, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Louie Bertha Willis and Edna Eloise Crisp Willis. He received his education at Collierville High School and was a farmer throughout his life. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, going to auctions and visiting his family. Louie will be remembered for being a loving father, brother and friend.
Mr. Willis is survived by his daughter, Amber Willis of Arlington, TN; three sisters, Bertha Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MS, Donnie Wilson of Somerville, TN, Brenda Willis of Somerville, TN; two brothers, Daniel Willis of Holly Springs, MS and Curtis Willis (Margaret) of Mt. Pleasant, MS; and his friend, Debora Willis of Arlington, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Willis; his sister, Dorothy Bryant; and two brothers, Paul Willis and John Willis.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jonathan Snider, Larry Cannon, Freddy Bennett, Ronnie Bennett, James Jr. Smith and David Lynn Cox.
