Louise (Martin) Armour

Louise Martin Armour, age 100, resident of Jackson, former resident of Somerville and wife of the late Billie Reeves Armour, departed this life Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2015 at her residence.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Armour were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 7th at the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Armour was born September 15, 1914 in Bemis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond C. Martin and Maye Martin Claiborne. She was a graduate of Malesus High School in Malesus, Tennessee and received her associate’s degree at West Tennessee Business College.

Mrs. Armour was a former resident of the Somerville Community and retired after 30 years from the Fayette County Courthouse as a deputy trustee. She was the wife of Billie Reeves Armour, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, needlepoint and playing the organ.

Mrs. Armour is survived by her niece, Bettye Raines Presley (John) of Port Charlotte, Florida; her grand nephew, Ryan Martin Metcalf (Kristel) of Bartlett and her great niece, Kallie Metcalf of Bartlett.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Raines, Lillian Davis and Hazel Moyer.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville First Presbyterian Church, 12940 S. Main Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
