Lucy (DiLeo) Smith

Lucy DiLeo Smith, age 86, resident of Oakland, departed this life Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Smith were conducted at 3 P.M. Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Father Robbie Favazza officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Smith was born December 8, 1930 in Lackawanna Township, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate in Albany, New York High School Class of 1948. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a resident of the Oakland area for five years. Mrs. Smith enjoyed collecting ceramics, doing water aerobics and special times with her family, friends and her loving pet dog, Penny. She was most recently a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville and will be remembered as a loving mother and friend.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Russell Smith and his fiancée, Janice, of Oakland, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony DiLeo and Evangline Parrico DiLeo and eleven brothers and sisters.
