Margie (Bobbitt) Hunsucker
August 20, 1938 — December 28, 2014
Margie Bobbitt Hunsucker, age 76, resident of the Oakland Community and wife of A.J. (Junior) Hunsucker, departed this life Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hunsucker were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 31st at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. The officiating ministers were Bro. Rhesa Davis, pastor of the Feathers Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville and Dr. Kenneth Culver, pastor of the Warren Community Church in Somerville. Interment followed in the Pleasants Cemetery at Rossville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Hunsucker was born August 20, 1938 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junius Lee Bobbitt and Willie Earl McIntyre Bobbitt. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married August 8, 1955 to A.J. (Junior) Hunsucker, who survives.
Mrs. Hunsucker was employed as an office manager for Somerville Manufacturing for a number of years before her retirement. She was a member of Feathers Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville and enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hunsucker is survived by four daughters, Sharon Byrd (Barry) of Lamar, MS, Teresa Threet (Pete) of Somerville, TN, Wanda Gray (Bill) of Somerville, TN, Stephanie Hyatt (David) of Rock Hill, SC; three sons, Kenneth Hunsucker of Somerville, TN, Andy Hunsucker (Mary) of Somerville, TN, Eric Hunsucker of Oakland, TN; four sisters, Elizabeth Rooker of Oakland, TN, Marilyn Bobbitt of Somerville, TN, Irene Brooks (Ron) of Olive Branch, MS, Sue Gladish (Norman) of Munford, TN; three brothers, Harvey Bobbitt (Joan) of Tupelo, MS, David Bobbitt (Donna) of Hodgenville, KY, Nathan Bobbitt (Susan) of Southaven, MS; twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Plunk and six brothers, Odell Bobbitt, Allen Bobbitt, Maurice Bobbitt, Jerry Bobbitt, Joseph Bobbitt and Thomas Bobbitt.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Brian Hunsucker, Adam Hunsucker, Matt Kelley, David Gray, Daniel Gray and Gabriel Threet.
