Marianne Williamson Kirby, age 85, a long-time and beloved resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday morning, August 27, 2015, at her final residence in Mesa, Arizona.
Marianne was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Robert D. Kirby. She is also reunited in Heaven with her 2 deceased children, James E. Kirby and Loisanne K. Dobbins. Marianne is survived by 3 sons: Robert K. Kirby, David R. Kirby, and Donald S. Kirby. Marianne’s legacy of family includes 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her devotion to family was profound.
Marianne was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Somerville, Tennessee for many years, and had a special bond with the entire congregation. Prior to moving to Somerville, she was a charter member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Marianne enjoyed fishing, traveling and special times with her family. She also loved her little dog and faithful companion, Princess.
The celebration of the life of Marianne Kirby were held on September 18, 2015, to be conducted at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland, located at 10670 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, Tennessee 38068, with Chip Davis of the Episcopal Diocese of West Tennessee, officiating.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception after the services at Marianne’s beloved St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 203 West Market Street, Somerville, Tennessee 38068. There will be bountiful food and a grand celebration of life.
