Marie Joyce Wilson Hall, resident of the Moscow Community and wife of the late Robert Hall, Sr. died Friday morning, April 27, 2012 at her residence. She was 79 years of age and died following an illness of three years.
Services for Mrs. Hall were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, May 3rd at the Graveside with Father Stephen Kenny of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery on Germantown Road in Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Hall was born June 25, 1932 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Arthur Wilson and Marie Neely Patterson Wilson. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married January 2, 1951 to Robert Hall, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 28, 2009.
In earlier years resided in the Memphis, Raleigh Community in Shelby County and in Colorado. She returned to Fayette County in recent years and resided with her son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. Hall, Jr. and Jean Hall, who served as her caregivers for the past three years.
Mrs. Hall was a Catholic and will be remembered for her love of bingo, fishing and music. She and her late husband enjoyed being members and participating in the activities of the Moose Lodge and she received pleasure in caring for her dog, Mitsy.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughter, Joppie Houston of Memphis; four sons, Robert W. Hall, Jr. and wife, Jean Hall of Olive Branch, MS, Clarence David Hall of Drummonds, TN, Wayne F. Hall of Moscow, Jimmy Hall, Sr. of Brighton, TN; her sister, Minoa Wilson of Longview, TX; her brother, C.A. Wilson of Mason, TN; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Robert W. Hall, Jr., Clarence David Hall, Wayne F. Hall, Jimmy Hall, Sr., Tim Houston, Sr., Tim Houston, Jr., Zach Hall and James Hall, Jr.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
