Marie (Ellingburg) Stewart

Dorris Marie Ellingburg Stewart, age 82, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of the late Calvin "Cal" Stewart, departed this life Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Stewart will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, January 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with visitation one hour before services. The officiating ministers will be Bro. Eddie Little, pastor of the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe and Bro. Rhesa Davis, pastor of the Feathers Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Stewart was born August 4, 1932 in Poplar Creek, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Ellingburg and Jimmie Gregg Ellingburg. She received her education in the Mississippi Public School System and was married July 23, 1950 to Calvin Louis "Cal" Stewart, who preceded her in death on December 9, 2013.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe and was employed as an accountant for the State of Tennessee before her retirement. She was a resident of the Hickory Withe Community and enjoyed square dancing, clogging, gardening, traveling and working with flowers.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by five daughters, Beverly Stewart of Memphis, Anita Goodman (Jerry) of Hickory Withe, Sherry Heisler (Al) of St. Louis, MO, Patricia "Pat" McIntyre (Richard) of Eads, Regina Reeves (Kenny) of Missouri; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stewart; three sisters and one brother.

Casketbearers will be family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the First Baptist Church Hickory Withe, 17675 U.S. Highway 196, Eads, TN 38028.
