Marilyn Meyers Koehler, resident of the Moscow Community and wife of the late John Koehler died Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville where she had been a resident for two years. She was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Koehler were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 9th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. William J. Parham, pastor of the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Collierville, officiating. Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Koehler was born April 8, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Andrew J. Meyers and the late Marie Straka Meyers. She received her education in the Chicago Catholic School System and was married June 5, 1948 to John L. Koehler. Mr. and Mrs. Koehler were married for 60 years before Mr. Koehler’s death on September 19, 2008.

Mrs. Koehler was a devout Catholic and member of the Catholic Church of Incarnation in Collierville. She employed as school secretary at St. Ann’s Catholic School in Bartlett, TN for several years. In 1977, at her husband’s retirement, the Koehlers moved to Moscow on the “Guy Simmons Home Place”. Mrs. Koehler enjoyed vegetable gardening, harvesting honey from her bee hives and feeding the hummingbirds that returned each year. She also worked alongside Mr. Koehler in the cattle and hay business.

Mrs. Koehler is survived by her son: John A. Koehler (Patricia) of Moscow; two daughters: Donna Fant of Destin, FL and Diane Jackson (Percy) of Brandon, FL; her grandchildren: Arika McElroy, Kris Panny, Jason Koehler, Heather Koehler, Hannah Thurmond and five great grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Kris Panny, Jason Koehler, Brian Thurmond, Eddie Hardin, Mike Crowder and Thomas Stewart.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethlehem Cemetery Association, c/o of Nancy Leggett, 765 Hays Road, Moscow, TN 38057-7432.
