MARJORIE RUTH SEARLES GARRABRANT, a resident of Bolivar and wife of the late Albert Garrabrant, died at 8:40 P.M. Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, TN. She was 86 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Garrabrant were conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, December 12th in Johnstown, OH with Rev. Bud Leskoval, officiating. Interment followed in the Fancher Cemetery at Galena, OH. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-Main Chapel of Somerville.
A native of Harlem Township, OH, Mrs. Garrabrant was born October 13, 1921. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Searles and Linnie Mullen Searles, her husband, Albert Garrabrant and infant twin sons Albert and Elbert Garrabrant.
Mrs. Garrabrant was a devoted member of the Harlem Road Church in Galena, OH. She was a homemaker and also operated with her husband the Garrabrant family farm. She moved to Tennessee in 2004 to be near her family. She will be remembered as an avid gardener who enjoyed flowers and reading.
Survivors of Mrs. Garrabrant include two sisters, Daisy Cramer of Canal Winchester, OH and Alma Farley of Lithopolis, OH; her brother Bob Searles of Portageville, MO and a number of nieces and nephews that include her nephew and caregivers, Larry Searles and wife Debbie Searles, who operate the Quality Carpets & Interiors stores in Somerville and Bolivar.
Casketbearers were family members and friends.
