Marjorie Ann DeLaney Hannah, resident of the Arlington Community, retired employee of Shelby County and wife of the late Henry Hannah died Saturday evening, March 19, 2011 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, TN. She was 67 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Private Family Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hannah were conducted at the graveside with interment in the Arlington Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Hannah was born in Shelby County on October 7, 1943, the daughter of the former Margaret Gai and the late James Delaney. She received her education in the Memphis Public School System and was married August 22, 1959 to Henry Hannah of Arlington who preceded her in death on April 17, 1980.
Mrs. Hannah was a member of the Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Fayette and Shelby Counties. She was a homemaker and also employed for over 20 years by Shelby County before her retirement eight years ago. Mrs. Hannah enjoyed gardening and received much enjoyment from being with her grandchildren and family members.
Mrs. Hannah is survived by her daughters: Patricia “Trisha” Jackson (John) of Arlington and Diane Marshall of Arlington; a son: Henry “Bubba” Hannah, Jr. of Arlington; two sisters: Earlene White and Francis Brady; two brothers: James DeLaney and Wally DeLaney, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association , 5583 Murray Road, Suite 200A, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
