Marjorie Ruth Oswalt Kipp, resident of the Oakland Community and wife of the late Albert John Kipp departed this life Sunday afternoon, July 7, 2013 at her daughter’s residence in Oakland. She was 94 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Family Graveside Services will be held in the Windsor Park Cemetery at Mansfield, Ohio and arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Kipp was born August 15, 1918 in Mansfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Oswalt and Martha Ruth Hale Oswalt. She received her education in the Mansfield, Ohio Public School System and was a graduate of the Madison High School.
Mrs. Kipp was married November 22, 1939 to Albert John Kipp, who preceded her in death August 14, 1981. She was a former resident of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Bartlett, Tennessee and Murray, Kentucky before moving to Fayette County to reside with her daughter.
Mrs. Kipp was a member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church where she participated in numerous church activities as long as health permitted. She will be remembered as an avid reader who enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing bridge with family and friends. Watching television sports was a favorite pastime.
Mrs. Kipp is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Kipp and her husband, Payne of Oakland and her sister, Miriam Dye of Mansfield, Ohio.
