Marsha (Allen) Greer

April 20, 1945 — March 14, 2013

Marsha Katharine Allen Greer, resident of Pearland, Texas and wife of Bob Greer with extended family members in Fayette County, departed this life Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Baywood Crossing Health Care Center in Pasadena, Texas. She was 67 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Greer were conducted at 4 P.M. Saturday, March 16th at Beamer, Texas. Graveside Services were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 19th at the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community of Fayette County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Greer was born April 20, 1945 in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Scott Allen and Evelyn Allen. She was a graduate of the Milby High School in 1963 where she served as President of the National Honor Society as well as Captain of Drill Corps. She was married July of 1968 to Bob Greer and they were blessed to share 44 years of marriage together.

Mrs. Greer was an outgoing and lively woman who loved to play golf and bridge before her health declined. She was organized and helped run several successful charity events. She also loved to crochet and was quite skilled at it. She joined her husband’s passion for the local Crisis Pregnancy Center by crocheting baby blankets to give to expecting moms that chose life for their unborn babies.

In addition to her husband of 44 years, local survivors of Mrs. Greer include her brother-in-law, Garland Greer of the Bethlehem-Hebron Community and her nephew, Eric Garland Greer also of the Bethlehem-Hebron Community. She is also survived by her daughter, Laura Greer Wardlaw (Travis); two step-daughters, Robyn Williams (Arvis), Ronnie Bergamini; her brother, Jerry Allen; and three grandsons, Tanner Bergamini, Joshua Wardlaw and Elijah Wardlaw. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard “Dickey” Allen.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Beltway 8 South Crisis Pregnancy Center, 10851 Scarsdale Boulevard, Suite 800, Houston, TX 77089.
