Marvin Lewis Elrod, age 69, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of the late Sheila Haley Elrod, departed this life Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Marvin was born February 9, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Paul Vernon Elrod and Ruth Virginia Hickman Elrod. He graduated from Westside High School in Memphis and was employed at Datsun/Nissan Forklift and Brother International for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed traveling for work to Brazil, Japan and across the United States over the years.
Marvin was a family-oriented person who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and following their interests. He also enjoyed boating and all types of sports. He became close friends with his sister-in-law, Brenda Haley, following the death of his wife.
Mr. Elrod is survived by his daughter, Whitney Willingham (Jared); his son, Travis Elrod; his stepdaughter, Brittney Conroy (Frank); his stepson, Ben Wilson (Christina); four brothers, Larry Elrod (Gwen), Jackie Elrod (Susie), Bobby Elrod (Kathy) and Ronnie Elrod (Julie); four grandchildren, Caleb Elrod, Brayden Willingham, Branson Willingham and Bradley Willingham; and ten step-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Brent Wilson and two brothers, Paul Henry Elrod and Vernon Elrod.
