MARY GUYNN PUTT KEMPER, resident of Huntsville, Alabama and former resident of the Somerville Community died Saturday morning, October 23, 2010 at her residence in Huntsville. She was 71 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kemper were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 26

at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth Culver of Warren Community Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Kemper was born in Booneville, Mississippi on July 26, 1939 to the late Cecil Putt and the late Violet Murphy Putt. She was educated in the Shelby County Public School System and was a resident of the Somerville Community for a number of years before recently moving to Huntsville. She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of the Warren Community Church.
Mrs. Kemper will be remembered for her enjoyment of antiques, bowling, shopping, traveling and reading. She was an avid lover of roses and birds with a special interest in hummingbirds and cardinals.
Survivors of Mrs. Kemper include her daughters: Rhonda Craig (Wayne) of Somerville, Pattie Sullivan (Charles) of Huntsville, Alabama, her son: William Snell of Huntsville, Alabama, her brothers, James Pruitt of Huntsville, Alabama, Larry Putt (Lola) of Somerville, Michael Putt of Somerville, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were
David Akins, Nick Craig, Bruce Craig, Adam Sullivan, Derrick Sullivan and Nathan Sullivan.
Honorary casketbearers were Christian Craig and Austin Snell.
