MARY TREADWELL KEOUGH, a resident of Cordova, former resident of North Little Rock with extended family members in the Fisherville and Eads Communities died at 5:10 A.M. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the residence of her son in Cordova. She was 66 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Keough were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 14th at the graveside with Rev. Furniss Harkness, Pastor of the Bethany Christian Church at Eads, officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Keough was born January 6, 1942 in Augusta, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James Willie Treadwell and the late Georgia Verneal Dunlap Treadwell. She was a graduate of the Des Arc, Arkansas High School and married at an early age Albert Hugh Keough who died December 8, 1988.
Mr. and Mrs. Keough were residents of Augusta, Arkansas for much of their married life, where they were members of the Augusta First Baptist Church. Mrs. Keough later moved to North Little Rock where she owned and operated retail shops, Fabulous Designs and also Wallpaper For Less. She continued to be active in the operation of these businesses until her recent illness.
Mrs. Keough will be remembered as an independent person who enjoyed life to the fullest. Her interests included home decorating and she was an accomplished ballroom dancer. A caring person who was always helping others, Mrs. Keough enjoyed the friendship of many.
Survivors of Mrs. Keough include her daughter, Lisa Holliday of Fort Smith, AR; her son, Dennis Keough (Kathleen) of Cordova; her sister, Willie Evans of Heber Springs, AR; her brother, Leon Treadwell of Des Arc, AR and four grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were David Beaver, Chuck Beaver, Craig Treadwell, Kevin Treadwell, Keith Griffis and Ed Simoneaux.
