Mary Alice (Lyons) Chadwick

Mary Alice Lyons Chadwick, age 94, resident of Cordova, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday evening, December 13, 2018 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Services and interment for Mrs. Chadwick were private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Chadwick was born November 25, 1924 in Ridgely, Tennessee in Lake County. She was a graduate of Ridgely High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was employed as a school teacher in Lake County for many years before her retirement and was a member of the Ridgely Women’s Club and the Lake County Retired Teachers’ Club. Mrs. Chadwick was a member of the First Baptist Church at Ridgely when she was a young person and she was a very artistic person who enjoyed making crafts, painting, reading and special times with her family members and friends.

Mrs. Chadwick is survived by her daughter, Marsha Mitchell (Earl) of Rossville, TN; her son, Charles Christopher “Bubba” Chadwick (Cassandra) of Tiptonville, TN; her sister, Betty Jean Hall (George) of Jackson, TN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves three nieces and three nephews including two special nieces, Carol Hall and Donna Hall.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Edith and Jess Craig, James Marion Capps (Daddy Jack) and Eura Capps (Mammy) who raised her; and her brother, Raymond Craig.
