Mary Ann (Gilbreath) Creason

Mary Ann Gilbreath Creason, age 76, resident of Oakland and wife of Billy Dale Creason, departed this life Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Creason were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Larry McBee officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Creason was born March 11, 1940 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Mack Gilbreath and Jennie Ella Dawson Gilbreath. She was a graduate of Treadwell High School Class of 1958 and attended Memphis State University for two years. Mrs. Creason was married September 2, 1977 to Billy Dale Creason and she was of the Baptist faith. She was employed at Alexander Insurance as an administrative assistant before her retirement. Mrs. Creason enjoyed playing “Words with Friends”, collecting jewelry, texting on her cell phone and special times with her family members and friends.

Mrs. Creason is survived by her husband 39 years, Billy Dale Creason of Oakland, TN; her son, John Paul McMahon (Joyce) of Oxford, MS; her daughter, Christine Burkett (Ronnie) of Hendersonville, TN; her brother, Ronnie M. Gilbreath (Susie) of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren, Dylan Summerhill, Michael McMahon, Alex McMahon, Kyle Burkett, Brittany Burkett; and her great-granddaughter, Arianna Pope.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bill Alexander, Michael McMahon, Dylan Summerhill, Ronnie Burkett, Ronnie Gilbreath and Nathan Funk.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
