Mary Elizabeth "Rita" (Wren) Sullivan

Mary Elizabeth "Rita" Wren Sullivan, age 73, departed this life Friday evening, April 15, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Sullivan were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Vernon Greer officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Sullivan was born December 27, 1942 in Memphis. She was a graduate of Frayser High School and was married to James Elton Sullivan. She was a lifelong resident of the West Tennessee area and was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Millington. Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed special times with her family and will be remembered for keeping her house neat and tidy.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her daughter, Michelle Reynolds and her husband, Martin, of Memphis; her son, Charles J. Crossley of Oakland; her step-daughter, Darlene Sullivan of Munford; her step-son, Shannon Sullivan of Mempihs; two brothers, George Wren of Munford, Raymond Wren of Memphis; four grandchildren, Charles Crossley, Jason Crossley, Elisha Reynolds, Hunter Crossley; and her great granddaughter, Nevaeh Michelle Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elton Sullivan who died February 28, 2007; her parents, George Wren and Nettie Pruitt Wren; three sisters, Sami Naley, Margaret Lee, Pearly Tate; and four brothers, Thomas Strevel, Leroy Strevel, Gene Strevel and James Strevel.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Charles Crossley, Jason Crossley, Hunter Crossley, Paul Baber and Jay Dobbs. Honorary pallbearers included George Wren and Raymond Wren.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
