On December 31, 2020, Mary Jane Vaughn White, born on May 12, 1930, passed away at the age of 90. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Oakland, Tennessee.
Mary Jane was a very compassionate woman who was kind, giving and full of wisdom. She liked reading, quilting, lighthouses, hot air balloons and traveling. She will be remembered for being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. White is survived by three children, Jeannette A. White, Jolean M. White and Edward R. White (Ann); her sister, Juanita Hargis of Bradfordsville, KY; three grandchildren, Tiffany White, Teresa Dawson (Joel) and Brittany White; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. White; her parents, Robert Freeman Vaughn and Thelma Grace Huff Vaughn; three sisters, Betty Watson, Ruth Ann Hooper and Bonnie Vaughn; two brothers, Donald Vaughn and Jim Vaughn; and her grandson, Adam Forrest Claxton.
Funeral Services for Mrs. White will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lone Oak, Kentucky. A visitation for Mrs. White will be from 12 noon until 1 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or St. Joseph's Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325-1000.
The White family requests that if you come to the visitation and service that you wear a face mask and follow social distancing protocols.
