Mathew James Gallimore, resident of Cordova, Tennessee, former resident of the Oakland Community and son of Carmon and Jeanne Gallimore departed this life Tuesday morning, May 28, 2013 at his residence. He was 28 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Services of Remembrance for Mathew were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 1st at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Kent Bailey of Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mathew was born February 28, 1985 in Memphis, the son of Carmon Lloyd Gallimore and Jeanne Mary Edick Gallimore. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a resident of the Oakland Community for 12 years before moving with his family to the Cordova area five years ago.
Mathew was a Christian and at the time of his death was employed by the Hubble Landscaping Company in Memphis. He had a lifelong love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Outdoor activities that included camping and fishing were favorite pastimes.
In addition to his parents, Mathew is survived by his sister, Jessica Gallimore Hearn (Samuel) of Cordova; three brothers, Christopher L. Gallimore of Cordova, Michael Gallimore (Latosha) of Virginia, Brian Hemmingway (Alyssa) of Maine; his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Doris Edick of Addison, IL; and his paternal grandfather, Carmon F. Gallimore of Paris, TN. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Frances Gallimore.
Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
