Melba Lee Conry

March 13, 1924 — July 2, 2015

Melba Lee Conry, age 91, resident of Memphis, departed this life Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Conry were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 7th at the Forest Hill Baptist Church in Germantown with Bro. Don Marston, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Conry was born March 13, 1924 in Scotts Hill, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Collier Scott and Vada Kennedy Scott. She was a graduate of Germantown High School Class of 1942 and was a graduate of the St. Joseph Nursing School in Memphis. She was married January 24, 1948 to the former W.B. Conry, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Conry was employed as a nurse for 35 years before her retirement in 1981. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Conry is survived by her daughter, Patricia Dunavant (Jimmy) of Cordova; two sons, James B. Conry (Brenda) of Middleton, Joe Conry (Dianna) of Memphis; her sister, Peggy Fiveash of Collierville; her brother, James R. Scott of Barton, MS; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Conry, two sisters and two brothers.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Larry Williams, Shane Conry, Kevin Shelton, Brandon Williams, Rob Davis and Ethan Coke.
