Merle Leiman

Merle Ferguson Leiman, age 88, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late Henry Leiman, departed this life Tuesday evening, November 14, 2023 at SomerOak Senior Living.

Merle was born December 8, 1934 in Old Hickory, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Mack Ferguson and Pauline Brown Ferguson. She was a devout Christian and homemaker throughout her life. Mrs. Leiman previously lived in Huntsville, Alabama and was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ. She was an avid rock collector who loved traveling. Merle had a contagious smile and enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening and watching wild birds.

Mrs. Leiman is survived by two daughters, Valerie Isom (Bill) and Jennifer Hurt; her sister, Maxine Moore; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Rooker, Colton Croft and Ashton Croft.

There will be a graveside service in the Spring of 2024 where the family will bury the ashes of Merle and Henry together at Maple Hills Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please send a memorial to your favorite charity.
