Michael Wayne “Mike” McCulley, age 50, resident of the City of Braden and husband of Jamie Powell McCulley, departed this life Thursday morning, June 28, 2018.
A Memorial Service was held at 1 P.M. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church Fisherville with Dr. Jeff James officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel in Somerville.
Mike was born January 18, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Jimmie Wayne McCulley and Sandra Lee Griffith McCulley. He was a graduate of Fayette Ware High School in Somerville, State Technical Institute in Memphis, and continued his education at Memphis State University. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church Fisherville where he was involved with Vacation Bible School and Men’s Breakfast. He was also a mentor to many young men in the Boy Scouts of America.
Mike enjoyed outdoor activities that included fishing, hunting, camping and hiking. He will be remembered for being a devoted family man who loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved dearly. He always had an upbeat attitude toward life and was always available to lend a helping hand.
Mike is survived by his wife who he married June 18, 2002, Jamie McCulley of Braden, TN; five sons, Phillip Daugherty of Stanton, TN, Christian Daugherty of Stanton, TN, Logan McCulley of Braden, TN, Caleb McCulley of Braden, TN, Jacob McCulley of Braden, TN; his parents, Jimmie Wayne McCulley and Sandra Lee Griffith McCulley of Gallaway, TN; and three grandchildren, Carter Daugherty, Carlie Daugherty and Bristol Daugherty.
