Michael Anthony Mullins

Michael Anthony Mullins, resident of the Oakland Community and hardwood floor installer departed this life Wednesday morning, September 14, 2011 at his residence. He was 22 years of age and died unexpectedly.

A Service of Remembrance for Michael will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, September 18th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Bobby Holland of the Oakland First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements are provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – West Chapel of Oakland.

A native of Fayette County, Michael was born April 8, 1989, the son of Steven Dennis Mullins and the former Linda Kaye Long. He received his education in the public school system of Fayette County and Chester County and had been a resident of the Oakland Community throughout much of his life.

Michael served as a subcontractor in the hardwood flooring industry in the Memphis area during his working years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed music, playing of the drums in earlier years and had been a member of the school band at Oakland. Designing and racing pinewood derby cars, vehicle repairing, fishing and hunting were favorite pastimes.

Michael is survived by his mother, Lynda Kaye Murphy of Whiteville, TN, his father, Dennis Mullins (Renee) of Oakland, two sisters, Angela Mullins of Oakland, Jennifer Skaggs of Oakland, two brothers, Jonathan Kelley of Hampton, VA, Buddy Stewart of Oakland, his maternal grandparents, Glynn and Nancy Long of Oakland, Bill and Rachel Mullins of Oakland, three nieces and one nephew.

Casketbearers are family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Professional Care Services of West Tennessee, 12615 South Main Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
