Michael William “Mike” Tice, resident of Nashville, Tennessee and native of Fayette County died Saturday, November 5, 2010 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Nashville.
He was 50 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Tice were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, November 15
th
at the Graveside with Rev. Tony Watkins, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Tice was born in Somerville, Tennessee on January 8, 1960 the son of the late Alma Owens Tice and the late William H. Tice. He was a graduate of Rossville Christian Academy and served in the United States Air Force from 1978 to 1982. He was employed as a Commercial and Residential Roofer for Tice Roofing Company for twenty years before retiring for health reasons two years ago.
Mr. Tice was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing and socializing with family and friends. He was a resident of the Moscow Community for much of his life and he lived in Nashville for the past five years.
Survivors of Mr. Tice include his two daughters, Amber Claunch Gore of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ashley Nicole Tice of Oakland, Tennessee, two sons, Michael William Tice, Jr. of Bartlett, Jeremy Steven Tice of Oakland, one brother, Jeffrey Ray Tice of Moscow and a grandson, Caleb Alexander Tice of Oakland. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tice was preceded in death by his sister Rita Tice Kennon Perez.
Family and friends served as casketbearers and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Oak Grove Baptist Church or Oak Grove Cemetery Association, 1980 Oak Grove Drive, Moscow, TN 38057.
