Michael "Mike" Allen Hannah

May 10, 1948 — December 14, 2016

Michael Allen Hannah, 68, of Arlington, Tennessee, passed peacefully on the morning of December 14, 2016.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Freeda (Merritt); his two daughters, Alicia (Sam Saieed) and Holly Yackey (Brad), his five grandchildren, Stephen Christopher, Constance, Coleton, Oliver, Nora; sisters, Claudia Horton (George), Debra Pound-Wiseman (Dickie), Caroline Chambers; brothers, Bill (Linda), Steve (Connie), Wally Delaney (Betty Carol); sisters-in-law, Ruby and Carol (Merritt) Edwards; and cherished best friends, Richard and Janie Guizlo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chris and his brothers, Don and Henry.

He was born May 10, 1948 to Claude Leon and Marie Louise (Parrish) Hannah. He attended Bolton High School and was a graduate of Memphis State University where he studied business and law. Mike was an accomplished entrepreneur who owned and operated several local businesses. He enjoyed reading, cooking, playing golf and softball, watching science fiction, spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Panda, and making people laugh.

Though Mike's achievements in life were numerous, he will best be remembered as a faithful man of God who loved his family, never met a stranger, and brightened the world with his jokes and generous spirit. He was an active member of the Arlington Church of Christ, which had its humble beginnings in the living room of his childhood home and later grew to a thriving congregation thanks to the hard work and dedication of his late mother.

The family invites loved ones to a Memorial Service at 2 P.M. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Arlington Church of Christ. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

As a tribute to Mike's giving spirit, the family asks that you join the organ donor registry by visiting DonateLifeTN.org and signing the back of your license. Without willing donors, Mr. Hannah would not have had the tremendous joy of being survived by his baby daughter, Holly. For that, he is eternally grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Arlington Church of Christ.
