Michael Wayne “Mike” Logan, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community, retired farmer and husband of Paulette Logan departed this life Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013 at his residence. He was 53 years of age and died unexpectedly following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Logan were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, October 25th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Kevin Treadway of Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Old Union Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Logan was born November 9, 1959 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Francis Logan and Shelby Jean Pittman Logan. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married November 9, 1979 to the former Paulette Watson, an employee at National HealthCare Center in Somerville, who survives.
A Christian, Mr. Logan was a lifelong resident of the Somerville Community. He was a farmer for over 20 years before his retirement a number of years ago and employed as a carpet installer for Wayne Pittman for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, motorcycling and special times with his family members and friends.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, Mr. Logan is survived by his daughter, Michelle Baskerville (Rafeal) of Somerville; his son, Little Mike Logan (Sherry) of Somerville; his sister, Vicki Gray (Goat) of Laconia, his brother, David Logan (Lisa) of Laconia; and two grandchildren, P.J. Logan and Payton Logan.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were David Babin, BooBoo Burns, Scoot Logan, Joseph Hunsucker, Daniel Kee and Danny Logan, Jr.
