Michael "Mike" Douglas Stroud

Michael Douglas "Mike" Stroud, age 65, resident of the Lambert Community in Fayette County, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, March 25, 2015.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Stroud was conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, March 30th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Mike Choate, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oakland, officiating. Interment followed in the Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in New Albany, Mississippi. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Stroud was born July 30, 1949 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Stroud and Hattie Reed Oaks Stroud. He received his education in the Bartlett School System and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oakland. He enjoyed working on vehicle motors, collecting knives and guns and was talented at working on things with his hands.

Mr. Stroud is survived by his sister Debra Choate (Mike) of Somerville and his brother, Johnny R. Stroud (Brenda) of Memphis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Wayne Stroud.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Johnny Stroud, Billy Stroud, Tommy Stroud, Cass Choate, John Myer and Homer Daniels.
