Midge (Jones) Marlar

April 19, 1941 — November 8, 2016

Midge Jones Marlar, age 75, resident of Somerville and wife of Billy Marlar, departed this life Tuesday evening, November 8, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Marlar were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Somerville First Baptist Church with Bro. Stan Smith, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Marlar was born April 19, 1941 in Tipton County, Tennessee. She received her education in the Tipton County School System and was married July 2, 1960 to Billy Lee Marlar. She was a florist for much of her life before retiring and was a member of the Somerville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Marlar enjoyed preparing food for her family and special times with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Marlar is survived by her husband of 56 years, Billy Lee Marlar of Somerville, TN; her daughter, Pamela Denise Crutchfield (Robby) of Somerville, TN; her son, Scotty Marlar of Somerville, TN; three sisters, Doll Fowler (Dudley) of Stafford, VA, Helen Pierce of Covington, TN, Ann Harris (Jerry) of Covington, TN; two brothers, Stanley Jones (Charlotte) of Covington, TN, Donald Jones (Louise) of Troy, TN; four grandchildren, Brittany Marlar, Kyle Marlar, Tommi Lynn Marlar, Jayden Crutchfield; and her great-granddaughter, Aubree Ann Marlar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Boyd Jones and Altie M. Pruitt Jones and eleven brothers and sisters.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Ron Tucker, Darryl Kelley, Murrell Tatum, Kyle Marlar, Mike Meyer and Dawson Wilburn.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association, 2170 Business Center Drive, Suite 1, Bartlett, TN 38134.
