Mike Duncan

David Michael “Mike” Duncan, age 68, resident of Germantown, Tennessee and husband of Gail Woods Duncan, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, December 14, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mike was born January 23, 1953 in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of Helen Driskill Duncan and the late Calvin Duncan. He received his master’s degree from Memphis State University and was employed as an information technology specialist for many years. He was married April 5, 1975 to Gail Woods and had been a resident of Germantown since 1984. Mike was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee and enjoyed running and University of Kentucky basketball. He was a Civil War buff and amateur photographer.

Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gail Woods Duncan of Germantown, TN; his daughter, Laura Strange (Chris) of Poplar Bluff, MO; two sons, Seth Duncan (Carrie Billings) of Germantown, TN and Justin Duncan (Brandy) of Bartlett, TN; his mother, Helen Duncan of Paducah, KY; his sister, Debbie Lane (Phillip) of Paducah, KY; his brother, Darrell Duncan (Camille) of Paducah, KY; and his granddaughter, Keara Duncan.

Funeral Services for Mr. Duncan were held at 2 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Mike Hollaway, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Seth Duncan, Chris Strange, Keith McCain, Joe Pearson, Darrell Duncan and Phillip Lane.
