David Michael “Mike” Thomas, resident of Memphis and the father of William Mayo Thomas and Jackson Lee Thomas, both of the Somerville Community, departed this life Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2013 at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for one week. He was 44 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Thomas were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 12th at the Highland Church of Christ on Houston Levee Road in Cordova. Interment was private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Thomas was born August 20, 1968 in Memphis, the son of Garry O. Thomas and Mary Ann Mayo Thomas. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Thomas was employed as a call center manager for the Canyon Healthcare Corporation in Memphis at the time of his death.
Mr. Thomas is survived by two sons, William Mayo Thomas of Somerville, Jackson Lee Thomas of Somerville; his parents, Garry and Mary Thomas of Arlington; his sister, Donna Thomas of Atoka; and his half-brother, Gary Leon Thomas.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Highland Church of Christ, 400 N. Houston Levee Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
