Mildred Maxine Wyse Mitchell, age 85, resident of Oakland and wife of the late William Raymond “Bill” Mitchell, departed this life Sunday evening, January 31, 2016 at her residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Mitchell were conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Stephanie Patton, pastor of the Oakland Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.
Mrs. Mitchell was born December 25, 1930 in Halls, Tennessee. She received her education in the Bartlett School System and was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee. She was married July 16, 1950 to William Raymond “Bill” Mitchell and she was a member of the Oakland Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed traveling and camping in earlier years.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Teri L. Hilliard (Miles) of Eads; two sons, Glynn Mitchell of Nashville, Randy Mitchell (Kelly) of Cookeville, TN; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond “Bill” Mitchell who died February 26, 2009; her parents, William Wyse and Audrey Inez Sorrell Wyse; and her brother, William Glynn Wyse.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Tony Mitchell, Zach Romaine, Steve Wyse, Michael “Skip” Wyse, Roger Inman and Wayne Johnston.
