Millie Pearl (Kee) Brown

October 2, 1931 — January 6, 2018

Millie Pearl Kee Brown, age 86, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Billy Brown, Sr., departed this life Saturday evening, January 6, 2018 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Brown were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Don Hammons, Baptist minister, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Brown was born October 2, 1931 in Somerville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arvin Kee and Hester White Kee. She attended the first school that was built in Somerville as a young person. She was married August 2, 1951 to Billy Brown, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 17, 2003. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of Somerville First Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of the Somerville area and enjoyed sewing, preparing food, tending to her flowers, cutting grass and taking care of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown is survived by three daughters, Barbara Boykin (Tommy) of Wingate, NC, Shirley Cannon of Somerville, TN, Charlene Gryder (Michael) of Somerville, TN; her son, Billy Brown, Jr. (Jennifer) of Elizabethtown, KY; three sisters, Janice Mount (Randy) of Henderson, TN, Inez Simmons of Somerville, TN, Julia Laney (Joe Ed) of Toone, TN; three brothers, R.C. Kee (Becky) of Somerville, TN, Roger Kee (Linda) of Cullman, AL, Richard Kee (Betty) of Grand Junction, TN; her sister-in-law, Helen Kee; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Ryan and her brother, Floyd Kee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Randy Mount, Joe Ed Laney, Gary Adams, Clay Simmons, Michael Kee and Tony Kee.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 713 S. Mendenhall Road, Memphis, TN 38117.
