Milton Ray Hardin

May 4, 1940 — December 18, 2013

Milton Ray Hardin, longtime resident of the Somerville Community, retired Fayette County Plumber and husband of the late Elizabeth Ann "Bonnie" Callahan Hardin departed this life Wednesday evening, December 18, 2013 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital in Somerville. He was 73 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Hardin were conducted at 3:30 P.M. Friday, December 20th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. John Ed Watkins of Somerville officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston.

Mr. Hardin was born May 4, 1940 in Myrtle, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Atwood Hardin and Lillie Mae Grubbs Hardin. He received his education in the Union County, Mississippi Public School System and was married July 2, 1960 to the former Elizabeth Ann “Bonnie” Callahan. Mrs. Hardin preceded him in death on April 13, 2011.

Mr. and Mrs. Hardin moved to Fayette County over 50 years ago. Mr. Hardin was the owner of Hardin & Sons Plumbing in Fayette County for 50 years before his retirement in 2011. He was Baptist in faith and enjoyed fishing, boat riding, hunting and special times with his family members and friends.

Mr. Hardin is survived by his daughter, Cindy Nix Snell (Raymond) of Macon; two sons, Curtis Ray Hardin (Cynthia) of Williston, Billy Joe Hardin (Angel) of Whiteville; two sisters, Nellie Hardin of Oxford, MS, Darnell Hardin of Pontotoc, MS; his brother, Jimmie Hardin of Blue Springs, MS; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Willie Atwood Hardin, Lillie Mae Grubbs Hardin; and two brothers, Lee Hardin and John Hardin.
