MINNIE C. MORGAN CRISP, longtime resident of the Moscow Community and wife of the late Junius Crisp, Sr., died at 5 A.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at her Moscow residence on Slayden Rd. She was 89 years of age and died following a 5-week illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Crisp were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, November 30th at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow with Rev. David Parlow, Pastor of the church, officiating. Special remarks were provided by Mrs. Crisp's son-in-law, Rev. Boyce Wilson. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-Main Chapel.
Mrs. Crisp was born October 5, 1918 in Lamar, MS., the daughter of the late John Morgan and the late Norma Hunsucker Morgan. She was educated in the Slayden, MS public school system and was married August 23, 1946 to Junius Crisp who died January 20, 2006.
Mrs. Crisp was a devoted member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church for many years and will be remembered as a spiritual person who loved her community, her family, her church and many friends. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word who found good in everyone she came in contact with. Mrs. Crisp looked forward to family gatherings at her home each weekend and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Survivors of Mrs. Crisp include two daughters, Barbara Wilson (Boyce) of Somerville and Bonnie Ward (Ricky) of Moscow; three sons, Junius Crisp, Jr. (Carolyn) of Barton Community near Collierville, and Bobby Crisp (Ouida) and John P. Crisp (Dale) both of Moscow; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Bo Allen, Andy Anderson, Wayne Beckett, Greg Bryan, John M. Crisp, David Morrison, Ricky Ward and James Young.
Mike Breedlove served as honorary casketbearer.
