Miss Alice Faye Edwards

October 28, 1938 — July 16, 2013

Miss Alice Faye “Babo” Edwards, longtime resident of the Braden Community and a native Fayette Countian departed this life Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 at her residence. She was 74 years of age and died following an illness of several weeks.

Services of Remembrance for Miss Edwards were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, July 19th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Robert Gross of the Burlison Community in Tipton County officiating. Interment followed in the Walls Cemetery in the Braden Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Miss Edwards was born October 28, 1938 in the Braden Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Chester Edwards and Lydia Mae Burrow Edwards. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County.

Miss Edwards was of the Baptist faith and was a caregiver for her family during their early years. She  was a person who enjoyed her home and activities that included crossword puzzles and family activities.

Miss Edwards is survived by her sister, Emma Hughes of Braden; her niece and nephew that she loved and considered as children, Myra Robins of Brighton, Mark Hughes of Braden; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Raymond Edwards and Stanley Lavelle Edwards.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Amanda Cleek, Josh Cook, Bubba Hughes, Brian Hughes, Tony Walls and Dustin Robins.
Honorary casketbearers were Samantha Jackett, Joey Cox and Mark Hughes.
