M. NOEL STEPHENS

December 4, 1990 — December 28, 2009

MARY NOEL STEPHENS, a resident of the Williston Community and Sales Associate for Wal-Mart in Oakland died Monday afternoon, December 28, 2009 at the Methodist Hospital in Somerville from injuries received in a vehicle accident that occurred in Fayette County earlier in the day. She was 19 years of age.

A Service Of Remembrance for Miss Stephens was conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, December 31st at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Jack Moore, Pastor of the First Baptist Church Fisherville, officiating. Interment followed in the First Baptist Church Fisherville Cemetery in the Fisherville Community of Shelby County. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Miss Stephens was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on December 4, 1990 the daughter of Gary Lee Stephens and the former Lisa Ann Miller.

She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of Fayette Ware Comprehensive High School in Somerville.

A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Noel had recently become employed as a Sales Associate for the Wal-Mart Corporation in Oakland, where she was a much loved and valued employee and co-worker.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church Fisherville where she was involved in numerous church activities that included youth, music ministry, mission trips and Sunday School Class.

A joyful, caring young lady with a Christian spirit, Noel will be remembered for her love of God, family and friends and for her beautiful smile and singing voice.

In addition to her parents, survivors of Miss Stephens include four sisters: Alyssa Miller of Albany, GA; and Anna Stephens, Faith Stephens and Hope Stephens, all of Williston; her grandparents: Cecil and Geraldine Hoskins of Somerville; Marshall and Barbara Miller of Falkner, MS and Mary Woods of Somerville.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather; Roger Lee Stephens.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Brandon Allen, Joshua Beaver, Daniel Garner, Jessie Gourley, Jay Gray, Davie Hug, Bubba Johnson and Zachary Pugh.

Honorary casket bearers were members of the First Baptist Church Fisherville Youth Group.
