MORGAN BUFORD PRICE, JR.

MORGAN BUFORD PRICE, JR., a resident of Tunica, Mississippi with family members in Fayette and Tipton counties died Friday morning, March 26, 2010 at the Baptist Hospital DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi. He was 66 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Price were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 1st at the Graveside with Rev. Loyd Shelton, Baptist minister of Rossville, officiating. Interment with military honors followed in the Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery on Raleigh LaGrange Road. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Price was born January 22, 1944 in Memphis, the son of the late Morgan Buford Price, Sr. and the late Augusta Smith Price. He was educated in the Memphis Public School System and was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Marine Corps.

He was a former resident of Covington before moving to Mississippi and was a self-employed truck driver for many years before retiring due to health reasons. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and will be remembered as a people person who enjoyed wrestling and conversation with family and friends.

Mr. Price is survived by his companion, Frances Faye Allen of Tunica; his daughters, Wendy Gail Hadley of Covington, TN and Deborah Kaye Chilcutt of Oxford, MS; his son, Jeremy Morgan Price of Fort Worth, TX; his sister, Katherine Aloma Price of Cleveland, OH; his brother, Robert Ira Price of Medon, TN; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Robert Price, Jr., Robert Price, David Price, Jeremy Price, Charles O. Burrow, Chester Wayne Chilcutt.
